Learn From the Pros – The Relationship Between Speed and Line in Putting by LPGA Tour Pro Young Kim One of the more difficult concepts for beginning golfers to grasp is how the proper line of a putt is largely determined by the speed of the putt. Amateur golfers often think that there is only one line on which a putt can roll for it to go into the hole. The truth of the matter is, there are almost an infinite number of ‘correct’ lines for a putt, depending on the speed with which the putt is hit.
