How to Hit a Bunker Shot from Wet Sand
When it is raining, the sand in a bunker usually becomes firmer and harder. The same is true of sand that has recently dried off from rain. When hitting from this kind of a lie, you must keep in mind that a miscue can result in the ball flying way too far, or the club bouncing off the hard sand and hitting a skulled shot.
Some people say that you should close the club face when hitting from wet sand, but I play the ball as if it were a normal lie. One adjustment that I make is to make a slightly smaller backswing, and then cut your follow through off abruptly.
